Startup Life Graduates

What You’ll Learn

  • We start by removing you from the environment you know for with a two-day offsite Launch Camp where we dive deep into our motivations and objectives as entrepreneurs in order to build a community of trust and impassioned motivation towards the success of your venture
  • Newly invigorated, we return to theClubhou.se where we’ll spend mornings in a studio environment together working on your company through a series of topics on customers, user experience, community building, finance, and team management. In the afternoons you will build skills in hardware, fabrication, software, marketing, and business automation.
  • Because all of your learning will be with your startup as your case study, you will likely already launch before graduation. All of our graduates will participate in Demo Day where they can share their company with customers, influencers, and investors.
  • Graduates will be assigned mentors to help with their specific industry needs, and receive free coworking, research lab, and manufacturing space access through the rest of the year.
  • Once a quarter, we organize a private “TEDxAugusta salon” style dinner party with outside speakers and conversation geared to help you grow as an individual and as a entrepreneur.

Weekly class schedule:

  • Monday mornings: Business design studio
  • Monday afternoon: Start your business assignment
  • Tuesday:  Business as usual
  • Wednesday morning: Founders Circle
  • Wednesday afternoon: Haus Meeting
  • Wednesday evening: Networking event
  • Thursday:  Business as usual
  • Friday morning: Group presentations and feedback

How You’ll Live

  • Startup Life is a full immersion startup accelerator program (based in downtown Augusta, GA) meant to eliminate all the barriers that exist between you and starting a successful business. In addition to professional support, theClubhou.se provides free dormitory housing, utilities, groceries, as well bike and laptop access for entrepreneurs accepted.
  • The Startup Haus is a beautifully restored 1912 craftsman home located in downtown Augusta’s Historic Olde Town neighborhood.  Each room is designed to accommodate two entrepreneurs and includes basic furniture, private bath, and high speed internet. A Haus Manager in partnership with Augusta Locally Grown will keep the refrigerator and pantry well stocked with healthy foods to keep your energy level up for the year.
  • Our private chef will offer regular cooking classes to make sure you don’t live on pizza, wings, and ramen noodles (not that we don’t love them too).
  • Quarterly group recreational outings including, kayaking, biking, and other activities to help you burn of the stress of starting a business.

What’s It Cost?

This is a free one year accelerator program, no cost, no equity taken. Yes, you read that correctly. We figure you have enough on your plate building a successful company, so we’ve designed this program to make your job a bit easier. Startup Life is fully funded by the Kauffman Foundation and our partners to support the growth of entrepreneurs. All program participants will be hosted free of charge.

The program includes: room and board (3 locally sourced, healthful meals a day), bike rental for transportation to and from theClubhou.se, and a curriculum of workshops to guide you on your journey to becoming a sustainable business.
